Fall Activities in Halton 2022

title image

It’s unbelievable but yes, fall is in the air!

The team at Storage Solutions has been busy getting in some maintenance projects and enjoying the more refreshing weather. And our customers are really busy too – back to school, getting out and around, and enjoying their communities again. This time of year, we like to share some ideas and favourite fall activities in Halton that you can enjoy. Here are just a few, but really, there are so many to choose from:

Enjoy a Fall Fair: The Milton Fall Fair runs from September 23 through to September 25th at the Milton Fairgrounds and is one of our favourites. There is something truly nostalgic about going to the Fall Fair and hearing the announcer over the loud speaker. It feels like you are transported to a simpler time (sigh). Just make sure you bring your patience as getting parking can be a slow process – but well worth it. For full details on the schedule please visit miltonfair.com.

Pick Up Fall Harvest: The Milton farmers’ market, run by the Milton Chamber of Commerce, is a true favourite. And this time of year, when the harvests start to come in, the market really does shine. We’re already thinking about the pumpkins and squash heaped up on display – instant reminder that Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Another favourite of ours is to pick up a fresh bouquet of flowers – for yourself or to give to someone to show you care (or both). Visit their website for up-to-date information: http://miltonfarmersmarket.ca/. By the way, the last market is Thanksgiving weekend.

Apple Picking: We typically choose one apple picking location to showcase, but you know, there are so many, and they are getting better and better every year.

  • Chudleigh’s Farm: Kids love going to Chudleigh’s Farm because there is a huge playground and a petting zoo. Adults also love going to Chudleigh’s Farm because they have an excellent outdoor restaurant area, and they still let you take your kids apple picking (many places are phasing this out because of food wastage). Full details, and how to buy tickets to Chudleigh’s can be found on their website: https://www.chudleighs.com/.
  • Williams’ Orchards: If you’re looking for a place that is less busy and more of a true farm, check out Williams’ Orchards. It’s just a normal place to pick apples – no appointments needed. It’s a hidden gem and really nice to visit on those warm, fall days. They don’t let in buses or tour groups, and when the parking lot is full, they are at capacity. For more information, their website is: https://www.williamsorchards.ca/.
  • Applevale Orchards: If you want a location closer to Burlington, then Applevale Orchards is a great choice. This is a nice place to take your kids and isn’t too overwhelming for them. We also like popping in to get some apples because they seem to have so many varieties. Visit their website for more info: https://www.williamsorchards.ca/.

Take a Hike: There are a lot of places to go hiking within Halton, but these 2 are pretty popular:

  • Mountsberg Conservation Area. Mountsberg is right by our Milton self-storage facility and it has parking, lots of activities, the Raptor Centre (birds, not basketball) and a cool barn for the kids to play in. It’s a nice field trip for your family to take, and you can hike along the trails to catch the calmer pace of life. Full details here: https://www.conservationhalton.ca/parks/mountsberg/.
  • Hilton Falls Conservation Area. This is also very close to our Milton self-storage facility, and getting to the Hilton Falls just brings about a moment of serenity. It’s a very peaceful place and the trails are well maintained. Hilton Falls parking lot and entrance is at 4985 Campbellville Road, Milton and here is the link for reservations: https://book.parkpassproject.com/book?inventoryGroup=1554186518
  • We would also suggest Area 8 Conservation Area, which is Conservation Halton’s newest park, but it’s closed after Labour Day. Maybe next year we can convince them that the fall is the perfect time to showcase this wonderful location!

Enjoy Fall Activities in Halton!

As you can see, there is a lot to see and do in Halton and while the weather stays bright and sunny, we will be seeing and doing things outside. With Thanksgiving creeping up, and pumpkin spice flavours popping up everywhere, it truly is FALL!

We hope everyone has a wonderful fall season….and for more helpful tips & tricks, advice, and a good laugh, keep up with our self-storage blog and like or follow us on Instagram & Facebook.

Very reliable storage. A good solution to park your car and keeping it protected from all weather conditions. Although a bit remote location.. but the price and the service was worth it.

I went in to find out some information on storage units for when I move in a couple weeks and was happily surprised by the customer service I received. I had looked at a few other storage facilities in Woodstock but their customer service was terrible compared to Jared's from Storage Solutions. He was professional and understanding of my needs and was ready to help anywhere he could. I will definitely be spreading the word to any of my friends looking for units!

Great rates for a clean, secure, well lit place. Really good staff and a company that cares. New facility and the competitors are pretty tired looking and charging the same rates (if not a bit more).

My husband and I recently relocated from the US and needed a place to store all of our belongings while we secured a new home. The folks at Storage Solutions advised us on the right size unit for our needs, at the right price. They were kind and helpful with all of our "first-timer" questions. We were very confident in the security of the place, and had absolutely no issues. I would highly recommend and use them again if needed.
