This makes them more expensive to operate, and therefore they have higher monthly rental costs. Drive-up units, which are exterior units, are almost always a less expensive self-storage option.

As the name implies, drive-up units are units you literally drive up to, open your trunk and start storing. They are very easy to move things into and out of. And because you’re not walking your items down a long hallway or through an elevator, drive up units are ideal for heavy items, bulky items, and for the in-between items.
